“I look for the human side of my subjects, shooting without artificial lighting that would overshadow the natural light. I always care about the intimate side of the person. I look for the relation between my subject and its environment. On some occasions I use streets and their walls that I consider to be my best studio. I am chasing the author and its work as one… My method of work is … to be as close as possible to the reality around us and to treat my subject with the utmost respect. I don’t try to fake the subject’s personality, nor to alter his or her environment. Hence I reject any pictorial technique that could be applied to photography… I only care about the person. I don’t look at the person’s occupation, nor title, nor awards… just the person.”
